The Digital Economy Enhancement Project (DEEP), funded by the World Bank and executed by Pakistan’s Ministry of IT & Telecom with NITB as a key partner, is a $78M national initiative to build the backbone of Pakistan’s digital public infrastructure (DPI). DEEP integrates national data exchange, digital IDs, business portals, and citizen platforms into a unified ecosystem for governance and economic growth. NITB’s role is central—developing the National Digital Portal, interoperability frameworks, and citizen-facing platforms that connect institutions, people, and technology. For governments, DEEP provides efficiency and cross-departmental transparency; for citizens, it simplifies access to services; and for businesses, it reduces compliance costs and fosters innovation. At GITEX 2025, DEEP is presented as a blueprint for digital nations, showing how large-scale digital frameworks can unlock sustainable growth, attract investment, and build inclusive digital economies.
